Family therapy

Families are systems. When one part is struggling, the whole shape shifts. Family therapy works on the shape.

Family therapy looks at relationships, interaction patterns and communication rather than treating one person as the problem. It is often helpful around transitions: a separation, a blended family, a child’s diagnosis, a teenager pulling away, or a period of conflict that nobody knows how to step out of.

Sessions may include the whole family, part of it, or parents on their own, depending on what is useful. The aim is healthier day-to-day functioning and a home that feels calmer for everyone in it.

Family therapy is offered in person in St. Catharines and Fort Erie, and by video.
