Child and youth therapy

Kids often communicate through play, creativity and movement rather than words. We meet them there.

All three of our therapists work with children and young people, using play therapy and other developmentally appropriate approaches so that a child can express what is going on without having to find adult words for it. Behaviour is a form of communication, and our job is to help uncover what lies beneath it.

Parents and caregivers are part of the work. Child therapy usually begins with a parent intake session, and along the way we help families understand behaviours, respond with confidence, and make changes that hold at home.

For teens, sessions look more like adult therapy: a private, non-judgmental space to understand the why behind thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and to build insight and healthier ways of coping.
